Wrapping up visit to the Holy Land.

My time in the Holy Land is drawing to a close. Yesterday was spent on the Mount of Olives at the Augusta Victoria Hospital (AVH). Kaiser Willhelm built the institution a century ago as a retreat for German Pilgrims. Since the 1950’s it as been run by the Lutheran World Federation as a hospital for Palestinians. AVH just announced plans for a new, 8-million dollar housing project on the Mount of Olives campus.

Later in the day we joined Mark Brown and his sons for a round of Frisbee golf! In the 1967 war the Jordanian army built a number of concrete bunkers around the AVH property. Mark has turned them into a nifty Frisbee golf experience on the same hill where Jesus prayed in the garden. Now how cool is that!

Later, Mark drove us over to the Israeli wall for a close look. They are turning the Holy Land into a prison. We begin our long journey home at 1a.m. Monday morning.
