Fracking Southern Illinois: Faithful Opposition

Fracking Southern Illinois: Faithful Opposition

Oil, natural gas and water. Every member of society depends on these resources for transportation,
heating, cooking and thousands of daily tasks.

But is our expanding demand for energy resources faithful? Recent
advances in an oil and natural gas extraction process that uses
millions of gallons of ground water, known as hydraulic fracking, have
turned Southern Illinois and it’s vast resources into a battle ground
in the fight between corporate interests who want to extract domestic
oil and natural gas reserves and those who question the long-term
consequences of hydraulic fracking on the watershed and ultimately the
health of everyone who depends on clean water.

In this addition of Sanctuary we look at faith-based organizations and
individuals who are opposed to fracking Illinois’s oil and natural gas
resources.

This is a production of Greater Chicago Broadcast Ministries and Tim Frakes Productions.

A great and well put together presentation, but like most environmental presentations and agendas, it lacks much substance. What are the alternatives. I can’t think of one Green agenda that comes close to working or has the substance/capability as an alternative to “save the planet”.
