Kevin Jacobson, his brother John and I went to Madagascar September 12-22, 1998 to record two programs “Walking Together in Global Mission” and “A Century in Madagascar.” American Lutheran missionaries Stan and Kathie Quanbeck were part of a continuous family legacy that served in Madagascar for 100 years. It’s a legacy that helped build an entire Lutheran Church and national healthcare system called SALFA. In this MOSAIC we travel to Madagascar to trace the Quanbeck roots to their beginnings in the 19th century. Stan gave me one of those interviews that really stick with you. It was from the heart. Jim Parks is the editor and also played music for this piece.
