How about some Gospel music! The Rev. Dr. Clay Evans, Pastor of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church was a major Gosple recording artist in the 1970’s and 80’s. Evans bought airtime on TV-38 and made regular appearances during telethons. It’s all part of a new documentary I am producing on WCFC TV-38, once the largest independent Christian television station in America.

Giovannini gained fame in the 1950’s through appearances on the Dave Garroway Show. He also served for two years as music director for the Kukla, Fran and Ollie television show.

In the 1960’s and 70’s he played piano on many movie soundtracks including The World of Henry Orient (1964), Wait Until Dark (1967), The Fox (1967), The Shoes of the Fisherman (1968), Shaft’s Big Score (1972) and Raid on Entebbe (1976).

We pick Fellows – vetted by global experts, and match them to groups of students who co-create content that is relevant to audiences. Content is uploaded to the IndianRaga portal for crowd-sourced feedback. By inverting the instructor-led approach to a peer-peer learning experience, kids engage better with the art form.

Popularized by MS Subbulakshmi, ‘Bruhi Mukundethi’ is a Sadashiva Brahmendra composition. 2013 IndianRaga Fellow Harsha Nagarajan set it to a ragamalika in ragams Kurinji, Kapi, Nagaswarali, and Hamsanandi, in this unique interpretation. The piece is preceded by a Thani Avarthanam to showcase the brilliance of our young mridangists.

With all the hubbub surrounding the recent trend toward normalizing relations with Cuba, I thought I would repost this March, 2011 video I recorded in Matanza, Cuba. My friend Tony Fernandez is the bass player in this wonderful string quintet. D`Cámara Opus 5 is popular in Cuba and has toured in the United States, Europe and around the Caribbean. Tony asked me to record them during my visit. Here they perform Johann Strauss, Roses from the South.

Walking in the Light of Your Love is a song written and performed by Peter Mayer with accompanying vocals from his daughter, India. Doug Haugen from Lutheran Men in Mission asked me to produce this video with Peter for the 2014 LMM Gathering in Nashville.

Peter, India and I shot this on a hilltop in Percy Warner Park. Guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, Peter Mayer has been quietly and steadily building a fervent following across the country, stepping outside his role as one of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefers to front his own band, The Peter Mayer Group. Melding a unique and eclectic writing style, a distinctive voice, and virtuoso musicianship, Peter and his band create compelling and accessible music that is electrifying in live performance.

Peter Mayer is a big-time performer and artist, yet as down-to earth as they come. A “Missionary Kid” Peter grew up in India where his family served with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. It was a honor to work with him again.

The documentary is being produced for the Institute for the Study of American Evangelicals at Wheaton College. Our plan is to explore the long-term impact of the Graham Crusades in the years after the event took place. Graham conducted more than 400 crusades in 185 countries and territories on six continents between 1947 and 2005.

We recorded this at the Lake County Fair Grounds in Grays Lake, Illinois.
