From Coffins to Hope: AIDS in Africa

Fall 2001 MOSAIC, the video Magazine of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Frequently, Africa is portrayed as a continent of war, famine, and disease. That is easy to understand. The continent has the highest portion of HIV/AIDS victims. Over 25 million are HIV positive. MOSAIC went to Africa to collect stories of individuals and churches that are working to bring hope to those who are suffering the effects of this disease. “From Coffins to Hope” tells how people and churches in Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Senegal are addressing the AIDS pandemic. You will see the deep care and concern of many African Christians and churches as they raise public awareness and educate and care for those most traumatized by HIV/AIDS.
