Bukoba, Tanzania is located along the shores of Lake Victoria. In May you can witness the hatching of the Lake Flies… clouds of them. If you’ve ever seen a Mayfly hatch, you know what I mean. Lake Flies are about the size of a mosquito, but they don’t seem to bite. We stayed at a guesthouse along the shore. The flies swarm in clusters over every sidewalk. To get from one building to the next, you have to run the gauntlet.
