Worship with the Philipino Methodist Church in Rome

Strolling down the Via Settembre this morning, a Philipino Methodist Church caught my eye. The worship service half over, I walked in and sat six pews from the front. The congregation of 50 is made up of Philipino immigrants to Italy. Recognizing a visitor, Pastor Noel asked me to stand and introduce myself. Judging by the applause, everyone seemed to be happy to have an American visitor from Chicago.

Shifting between English and Philipino, the Pastor preached from Romans 6 and Martin Luthers notion of salvation through faith alone. Later, everyone went to a fellowship room for Southeast Asian treats. It was a great way to start the day.

Rick Steve’s arrives tonight from Athens. We will go over the script for our documentary, “The Life of Apostle Peter” and launch our attack on Villa Hadraian tomorrow morning. Peter never went to Villa Hadraian. We chose this location because it offers a vast set of ancient ruins. We will use these ruins as a backdrop to talk about Peter’s life in the Galilee, Jerusalem and other locations in the Holy Land.
