Alexander Robinson, Chief Cheecheepinqua of the Potawatomi (Squint Eye) was an important native leader and key figure in the early history of the City of Chicago. However, his role in the Fort Dearborn incident and the relationship between native people and European settlers is often left untold.

My sister, Victoria (Saul) Nichols, researched our family history some time ago and found that Alexander Hamilton was part of that history on our paternal (William Saul) side. My sister is 73 now and I am 60. I wish I had taken more interest in this when I was younger. However, I’d like to learn more about him, his life, and the tribes he was associated with. Hope to someday visit his grave site.
    Sincerely,
    Julie (Saul) Roberts
